Feb 5th – Day of Writing a Story
In my composition class we were getting our stories back with our grades and everyone was nervous. And I have to admit I was especially nervous because writing back home isn’t as intimidating. We’re all afraid that they will see our writing and just want to laugh at it or say how bad it is. Almost everyone had a ‘c’ on their paper. Which I was disappointed because I didn’t think it was that bad…I at least thought it was a ‘b’ if anything. Then, Antonio, our professor, explained that ‘c’ means corregir, which means to fix. So we all needed to fix our compositions from the marks and suggestions he made on them. Oh, okay…now I don’t feel so bad. Then he said that overall everyone’s papers were short. Which we all were like no, you said two pages and we all wrote two pages. Antonio then said that he means two pages front to back…which we all said, no that’s four pages. Oh, he says, well when you go back to correct the errors you will need to write two more pages. What?! Ugh, great. I went to him after class and asked if I could come to his office tomorrow morning to go over the corrections I don’t understands. He says that’s fine. Hmm, my friends and I in the class were wondering then if our final paper which says it’s 8 pages is really 16 pages. Which even for a class or any kind in the states is a lot, I mean I’ve written many papers and rarely have I written one with that length. Art class is starting to pick up now as we are getting towards Romanic (no, not Romantic) and Gothic architecture. After classes I went back to have lunch, take my siesta and then work on writing the rest of my story. I finished the last two pages and needed one more paragraph to finish which since it was getting to be late, I would do later.
